CLASSIC YACHTS

Classic Yacht Charters presents some of the finest fully crewed classic yachts available for charter in the Caribbean - schooners, yawls and beautiful gaff rigged yachts. Some are super luxury, others are comfortable cruising yachts offering fun and action packed sailing vacations. They include traditional wooden boats, classics, vintage yachts, luxury spirit of tradition modern classics and classic motor yachts.

Film shoots: Most of these classic yachts are fabulously photographic and perfect for fiim or fashion shoots.

Regattas: There are a growing number of classic yacht regattas around the world and we will be pleased to recommend suitable boats and help tailor the race event charter to suit you.

 

WINDROSE - SPIRIT OF TRADITION SCHOONER

Designed by Gerard Dijkstra & Partners and built at the Holland Jachtbouw yard in 2002. Refit 2010. Windrose has accommodation for up to eight guests in four cabins: master, two doubles which can convert to twin singles and one fixed twin cabin. Seven crew. Based Mediterranean summer, Caribbean winter.

LONE FOX - CLASSIC KETCH

An Ocean Racing Ketch designed by Robert Clark and built in Scotland in 1957. Accommodation best for four guests in two cabins: master and bunk bed cabin. Two crew. Based in St Barth and available for day charters, term charters and regattas.

HERON - CLASSIC SCHOONER

A very pretty and beautifully maintained family built, owned and operated schooner. Built in 2003 of traditional plank to the original 1928 specification of a John Alden schooner. Raised panel mahogany interior. Based: summer Penobscot Bay, Maine and winter: Maho Bay St John, USVI. Available for day charters and regattas.

KATE - CLASSIC YAWL

Designed to the original drawings of an Alfred Milne First Rule (1907) International Twelve Metre. She was built by Philip Walwyn and his small team of woodworkers in St. Kitts and launched in December 2006. In 2010 she was modified to a yawl which makes her easier to handle and an excellent regatta charter yacht. 60ft on deck.

VERITAS - CLASSIC KETCH

Designed by Henry Rasmussen, VERITAS was built as KAY at the Abeking and Rasmussen yard in Germany in 1962 - steel hull, varnished mahogany coach house, sitka spruce spars and teak deck. In 2004 she went through a major refit by her current owner with a mini refit again in 2008. She is available for day sails in the BVIs; romantic term charters where her accommodation is best suited to just one couple; and for regattas.

AURELIUS (EX ANNAGINE) - SPIRIT OF TRADITION SLOOP

Designed by Gerry Dijkstra and built in 2004 by K & M Yachtbuilders. She has a combination of sailing performance and comfort. Accommodation is for up to six guests in three cabins: two double cabins and one fixed twin cabin - perfect for families. Based: Caribbean winter, Med summer.

SINCERITY - VINTAGE KETCH

designed by Vincenzo Baglietto and built at Cantieri Baglietto in Varazze near Genoa, Italy. She was originally named Janua and launched in August 1928. She was built of three inch teak on oak frames and designed as a fast and comfortable cruising yacht. She has accommodation for up to five guests in three cabins sharing one head and shower. EROS - CLASSIC SCHOONER

Built in England in 1939 this staysail schooner was designed by William Meek along the lines of a fast traditional "Gloucesterman Schooner". Constructed of Burmese teak over steel frames she was beautifully restored by current owners. She offers accommodation for up to eight guests in four cabins: three doubles (one of which has an upper berth) and a bunk bed cabin. Four crew. Also available for regatta charters.

ELENA - CLASSIC SCHOONER

Built in 2009 according to the drawings by Nathaniel G Herreshoff of the magnificent original gaff-rigged schooner Elena built in 1910. She held the trans-Atlantic record in 1928. With the latest navigation and communication equipment, entertainment systems and air conditioning Elena is a true luxury charter yacht. She has five cabins: master, two doubles and two twin cabins. SUMURUN - VINTAGE KETCH

Designed by William Fife and built in 1914 as a fast cruiser she raced often in the 1920's and 1930's. She still regularly takes top honours in American, Caribbean and European classic events as one of the best performing and perfectly kept vessels. Sumurun will be taking part in the Transatlantic Race this summer and afterwards available for charter in Scotland and Ireland. Accommodation for up to six guests in two doubles and one twin cabin.

MARIE - SPIRIT OF TRADITION KETCH

Andre Hoek designed, modern classic ketch built at the Vitters yard in Holland in 2010. A stunning and luxurious modern classic featuring a baby grand piano in the saloon and advanced sound systems. Accommodation for up to eight guests in four cabins: master, two doubles (one of which can be split into twin singles) and a fixed twin cabin.

W-CLASS - SPIRIT OF TRADITION

Wild Horse and White Wings, the two fast, race-proven W-76 racing yachts. Designed by the late Joel White, the W-76 sloops have the long, low profiles and overhangs of traditional racing vessels while using the latest cold-molded construction techniques. Both yachts are available for day sails: summer in New England and winter St Barth's. And for regattas.

MARIELLA - VINTAGE YAWL

An Alfred Milne designed yawl and built at the William Fife & Son yard, Fairlie, Scotland in 1938. Regularly raced (privately) in the Caribbean and in the Med she is frequently featured in fashion and movie film shoots.

CORAL OF COWES - VINTAGE SCHOONER

A beautiful Edwardian gaff-rigged schooner, designed by Fred Shepherd and built by White Brothers of Southampton in 1902. She was refitted in 2011 and maintains many of the charming original features now lovingly brought back to life by her new owner. Accommodation for up to six guests in three cabins: double, the "Ladies Cabin" twin and a further twin cabin, all sharing two heads and one shower with an additional shower on deck. Bruce King ketch designed along the lines of the vintage classic Ticonderoga. Built 1990 of wood epoxy, refit 2009.
